Welcome to the Capital USA Dance December Update

Hi, USA Dancers!

The holidays are here, by golly! Disapproval would be folly! Deck the halls with hunks of holly, and get ready for some jolly holiday dancing!

See you this Sunday...

New Year's Eve Gala

Time has run out on registrations for our spectacular New Year's Eve Gala. We are overwhelmed by the massive response this year, and would like to thank everyone who has chosen to join us. It looks like it will be an amazing event, and we're excited to see you all there!

Capital USA Dance Elections

Nominations for our new board of directors will be closed in just a couple of days, so this is your last chance to nominate yourself or another member for a position!

The person nominating and the person being nominated (and you are encouraged to nominate yourself!) must both be members in good standing of USA Dance. The nomination must include the nominator's name and membership number, as well as each nominee's name, membership number, address, phone (cell preferable, it will not be distributed), and email address (if available). There is no limit to how many names one nominator may submit.

Each nominee will be contacted by the nominating committee to confirm that they wish to participate in the election before they officially become candidates, and will be asked to provide a short biography to be distributed during elections.

Submit all nominations to: nominations@capitalusadance.com

December Dance This Sunday

Our December dance will be held on Sunday, December 20th at 6 P.M. Please Note That Our Location Has Changed! Due to circumstances beyond our control, our usual venue is not available this month. Instead, this month our dance will be held at Danceland, at 638 Columbia Street, Latham (Dollar General Plaza).

Our DJ will be Dancin' Time. The class will be Salsa (With David Levesque) from 6:15 to 7:00. Members of the RPI Ballroom Dance Team will present a showcase, "Waltz of the Snowflakes", from The Nutcracker Suite, and holiday refreshments will be donated by members of the board of directors.

As always, admission is $10 for members, $13 for non-members, $5 for students, and free for volunteers and under 18.

Upcoming Events

  • Sunday January 17th at the Polish Community Center - This month's dance will include music by Paul Giuliano, lesson with Louise Giuliano, and a showcase from the Albany Dancesport Team
  • Sunday February 21st - Music and lesson from Erick Singleman
