Welcome to the Capital USA Dance October Update

Hi, USA Dancers!

The leaves are turning, there's a spooky chill in the air, and the days are getting shorter. But shorter days mean more night to dance through, and that's just what we're going to do! Here's what's happening with Capital USA Dance.

See you this Sunday!

Tea Dance

On Saturday, October 24th, Capital USA Dance is teaming up with our sister Adirondack chapter, to present an afternoon tea dance! Held at the Universal Preservation Hall from 3-6PM, this casual elegant event will be open to the public, but intended to delight our members! With member provided refreshments and music by Johnny Martinez, it's an afternoon of relaxed dance fun with a touch of class.

This new time and day experiment is designed to let you come to Saratoga and dance away the afternoon, and then be free to spend your evening enjoying the fall scenery and amenities of Saratoga Springs.

$10 - Members
$13 - Non-members
Students - $5
Under 18 - Free

New Year's Eve Dance

On Thursday, December 31st, Capital USA Dance is once again hosting our epic New Year's Eve Gala. It will be held at the newly reopened Raddison Hotel on Wolf Rd.

Details are still being arranged, so stay tuned for our official announcement and invitations!

Capital USA Dance Elections

The time has come, members! Our current board of directors' term ends in December, which means it's election season! The new board will begin their term in January of 2016 for a two year stint.

It is so important that our members participate in the leadership of the chapter! The current board is already a couple of directors short, and several directors do not wish to undertake another term, so we really need our members to step up and take the reins this year. If you are interested in having a voice in how our chapter is run, or know someone who you think would be, get those nominations in!

Details on the election process will be forthcoming in other announcements, but for now, just start thinking about the course our organization should take for the next two years, and be a part of making that happen when the time comes!!!

October Dance This Sunday

Our October dance will be held on Sunday, October 18th at 6 P.M. Our venue will once again be the Polish Community Center at 225 Washington Avenue Extension, Albany, NY.

Our DJ will be Jim Apicela. The class will be Hustle with David Levesque from 6:15 to 7:00. The showcase will be a special dedication in honor of breast cancer awareness, "I Will Survive", performed by David Levesque and Barbara Ritschel. Also to support breast cancer awareness, we will be holding a 50/50 raffle!

As always, admission is $10 for members, $13 for non-members, $5 for students and free for volunteers and under 18.
