Our chapter runs a number of regular ballroom dance events to provide our members and our community with dancing opportunities. The most important are our monthly dances, Underground Ballroom, our annual black-tie gala (and associated National Ballroom Dance Week Activities), and our New Year's Eve Formal.
Monthly Dances
Our monthly dances are held on the third Sunday of each month, at the Polish Community Center on Washington Ave. Extension in Albany, NY (unless otherwise announced).
We hold an introductory class in diverse styles at the beginning of every dance, and usually have live demonstrations. We also try to employ a different DJ every month, both to encourage local DJs to support ballroom dancing and to give our attendees a wide variety of dancing experiences.

Underground Ballroom
The newest addition to our chapter's arsenal of dance events, Underground Ballroom is a sub-goup that organizes club-style ballroom events in a more informal, social style than our other offerings. UB provides a fresh new dance experience for the ballroom community, and gives new dancers and folks from other local dance communities a chance to come out and see what ballroom is all about. We keep it cozy, casual, club-style, and energetic, and we make sure the music is contemporary and fun. Held the first and third Saturday of the month at The Fuzebox, 12 Central Ave., Albany.
National Ballroom Dance Week
Every year at the end of September is National Ballroom Dance Week. During this week, our chapter runs a series of public dance events to increase public awareness of ballroom dance. This week is highlighted by our yearly Black Tie Gala, the biggest formal dinner dance in the area.
Our goal with the Gala is to provide our membership with an elegant yet affordable event to celebrate another great year of dancing in the company of their fellow enthusiasts.
New Year's Eve Formal Our New Year's Eve Formal is the ballroom dancer's alternative to staying home with Dick Clark or generic celebration venues. Here again, we aim to provide an elegant but affordable dance opportunity to our membership.
